Construction Update

September 4th, 2007

By now some of you may have seen the construction trailer located in the W2 parking lot behind L building. Believe it or not we are getting ready to start construction on the first of our new buildings. The Learning Space building will begin construction this month and we will have our “official” groundbreaking on September 25.

Rogers-O’Brien will be in charge of the project and has fenced in the area. It has meant the lose of the W2 and W3 parking lots. However, thanks to the work of Art Sykes and facilities, we will have enough handicap spaces to accomodate students who park in that area. They have added spaces in E1, E2A and W5. This will put us well within the number of spaces required for code.

I know that there will be a great deal of interest as the trucks and cranes arrive on campus. There is a protocol for visiting the sites. If you are interested please work with Lindle Grigsby and Jim Jones. For your safety and the safety of the project, please adhere to our protocols.

We will continue to keep you updated in a timely manner. This is an exciting time for all of us.
